Alabama’s First Lady

Alabama's First Lady Dianne Bentley reads "Emma Jo's Song"

My friend, Faye Gibbons, who wrote “Emma Jo’s Song” of which I did the illustrations, sent me a card and a newspaper article from the Montgomery, Alabama Advertiser from August 31, 2011. It shows the first lady reading “Emma Jo’s Song” to Nixon Elementary School third grade students. After you illustrate the books they go out into the world and have a life of their own. It is nice to know that the books are being read and enjoyed by kids around the nation and around the world. Faye wrote that she wished they would have mentioned the illustrator but they did have a nice picture of the inside of the book showing the illustrations. Well it’s time to go prepare for my first day of watercolor classes.
